Director- Practitioner Education, NSW

A rare opportunity in post-graduate legal education based in the College of Law’s Sydney CBD campus on Elizabeth Street.

The College of Law’s Practitioner Education Business Unit is responsible for developing and delivering all programs for practising lawyers throughout their career which enables practitioners to develop professionally within specialist practice areas. The Director Practitioner Education leads and ensures the achievement of the Practitioner Education’s business plan targets whilst adhering to the College’s strategic goals and various governance and compliance requirements.

Based in the College campus in Sydney City, this senior executive role carries a variety of duties including:

  • Develop annual business plan goals in conjunction with Marketing and other key stakeholders;
    • Achieve revenue and enrolment targets for Practitioner Education’s programs;
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies associated with Practitioner Education’s programs and the wider Group;
    • Identify, implement and grow new legal education markets;
    • Effective leadership and management of team to ensure a high performance, positive culture;
    • Promote and facilitate appropriate research and scholarship within the context of Practitioner Education;
    • Ensure that clients/students have a quality learning experience through accurate and seamless enrolment processes and outcomes;
    • Develop and maintain effective relationship with regulatory bodies, law firms, the practicing profession, College alumni and other relevant agencies.

This job would suit someone with:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of the legal professional services as a whole;
    • Demonstrated ability to develop business;
    • Demonstrated ability to thing strategically and implement strategy;
    • Strong analytical and financial management skills;
    • The ability to build relationships with industry and market and sell our Program product offerings;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with influence with a broad audience;
    • Previous demonstrated success in leading and managing teams;
    • A good understanding of, and the ability to implement best practice people management and HR principles;
    • Masters degree (or higher) in law or education, or equivalent professional experience.
